Kalimo is committed to making our website and learning activities accessible to all children, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). We want every student to enjoy learning new words and to use our platform with confidence.

1. Our commitment

We aim to:

  • Provide a simple, clear layout

  • Use easy‑to‑read fonts and colours

  • Make navigation straightforward for young learners

  • Support screen readers and keyboard navigation

  • Avoid flashing or distracting elements

  • Keep instructions short and child‑friendly

We are continually improving accessibility as we develop new features.

2. What we have done

To support accessibility, we:

  • Use high‑contrast colours for readability

  • Keep text short and simple

  • Use consistent button shapes and labels

  • Ensure games work on different devices

  • Avoid time‑pressured tasks unless necessary for gameplay

  • Test pages with common accessibility tools

3. What we are working on

We are currently improving:

  • Keyboard‑only navigation

  • Screen reader descriptions for badges and game elements

  • Additional support for children with dyslexia or visual processing needs

If you have suggestions, we would love to hear from you.

4. Reporting accessibility issues

If you find any part of Kalimo difficult to use, please let us know so we can improve it.
